Summer Events at Twinoaks - Book Now!
So summer is finally here! The horses and the team at Twinoaks had a very busy and enjoyable spring working with individuals and groups – many of whom were new to what we do and came by recommendation from others who have experienced first hand the personal transformation that these wise and intuitive animals can facilitate. These experiences have helped us shape an eventful summer programme which we believe has something for everyone!
SUMMER WORKSHOPS
We have a variety of workshops running over the summer period. Details, dates and costs are set out below. We are taking bookings for all of these now. INTUITIVE HORSE WORKSHOPS
We are running two one-day Intuitive Horse workshops on 24th July and 7th August. We are offering a special summer price of £130 per person if you book before 15th July. Normal price after - £150
INTUITIVE HORSE WORKSHOP - 24th July – led by Emma Colyer and Janette Colloby
CONNECTING TO YOUR HEART THROUGH THE SPIRIT OF THE HORSE. On this workshop we explore thinking states (head) versus feeling states (heart). In the challenging times we are in and face, it is easy to allow our heads to rule our actions and behaviours most of the time. This is fine to a point, but does there come a time when you can no longer make sense of what you want, or obstacles start getting in the way? By allowing Yourself to enter a 'feeling' state (into your heart) you can view life from a less complicated place. Answers start to become much clearer and ideas on the way to move forward flow more easily. The horses help you recognise the difference between head and heart states by the way they respond to you. They give instant feed back on specific areas of your life and help you navigate your next step forward. This will be a truly enlightening day with the horses and no experience with horses is necessary to benefit.
INTUITIVE HORSE WORKSHOP – 7th August – led by Emma Colyer and Janette Colloby
This workshop focuses on developing your intuition, how to listen to and trust it. What is intuition? Knowing or understanding something immediately with out reason or being taught. By becoming aware of feelings in your body and using this information, you can start to 'fine tune' your intuition.The horses help you by giving instant feed back through the behaviour they display towards and around you. There will be opportunities to work individually with a horse. This workshop is open to anyone and no previous horse experience is necessary!
TAI CHI WITH HORSES – summer term 12th July – led by Paul Tucker
Now that summer is here, why not join us for the summer term of Tai Chi with horses? Tai Chi is an ancient form of slow graceful and rhythmic exercise that improves balance, posture and focus. Uniquely, we offer this programme in the fields with the horses (weather permitting!) which adds an extra dimension to the experience as horses are masters at being in the present moment and demonstrating self awareness. The sessions are led by Paul Tucker from Equillibrium in Lewes. Classes start 12th July at11am and will run for a four week term at a cost of £48 per person.
TRUST TECHNIQUE WEEKEND WITH HORSES – 28th & 29th August – led by James French
James French returns to Twinoaks at the end of August to run another Trust Technique weekend. This has proved very popular over the last year and a half and provides a good foundation for anyone working with and training animals and their pets. It focuses on sharing feelings and building trust with animals.
SOUND THERAPY FOR ANIMALS – 15th July – led by Jo Rose
This is a fun, practical workshop which explores therapeutic properties of sound and how this can be applied to help animals. The course will include a variety of sound healing tools including singing bowls, tuning forks and Tibetan symbols. We learn how to use sound to find imbalances and correct them. The workshop will run from 6.30 to 9.00 pm and costs £20 per person.
HEDGE HERBS FOR US AND OUR ANIMALS - 22nd July – led by Jo Rose and Sophie Xi- Zeta
This is a hands-on workshop which includes:- Foraging for common and useful hedge herbs with information on their properties, and how to turn the natural findings into remedies.
- Zoopharmacognosy practical application to animals.
- The workshop will run from 6.30-9.00pm and costs £20 per person. It will include some foraged snacks!
INTUITIVE HORSE STABLE MANAGEMENT WEEKEND – 31st July & 1st August – led by Emma Colyer
A fun, hands on and educational weekend working with horses. Designed for people with little or no experience around horses who want to learn how to connect with and care for them. This is suitable for people who are nervous around horses. The course will run from 10.00 – 4.00pm on Saturday and 8.00 - 4.00 pm on Sunday and costs £100 per person for the whole weekend.
APPLIED EQUINE PODIATRY – 20/21/22nd August - led by Trevor Jones
For the first time we are hosting a workshop designed to give a thorough introduction to the science and application of Applied Equine Podiatry. This 3 day programme promises to be very informative and educational, using theory and practical demonstrations. It is suitable for anyone who would like to gain more knowledge of the horse’s foot and way of going! Please visit www.equinepodiatry.co.uk for more detail on this.
ANIMAL COMMUNICATION - 14th &15th August- led by Mia Sampietro
Have you always wanted to 'talk' to animals, or maybe you think you can? This beautiful 2 day workshop will guide you to communicate with animals. By quieting your mind and tuning in you will hear what they are saying. Over the weekend you will work with live animals at Twinoaks as well as tuning into photographs of animals to communicate with them remotely. Join Mia Sampietro for a weekend of full emotion, fun, laughter and joy and experience 'talking with the animals.
PRIVATE SESSIONS
In addition to the above workshops, we continue to offer private one-on-one sessions, we offer 2 types. 1, focusing on the individual learning about themself and working through areas in their life which need addressing through the horse and 2, for the individual who would like to gain horsemanship skills on the ground.We offer bespoke sessions for groups. If you are interested in experiencing the benefits of Intuitive Horse or Intuitive Riding do get in touch to discuss your requirements.

We will be at Bolnore Village fete, near Haywards Heath in West Sussex on 18th July to promote Intuitive Horse. Bobby our resident Shetland pony will be with us so do come and say hi!
