Intuitive Riding

Twin Oaks Intuitive Centre teaches horse riding with a difference. How are we different?

We teach intuitive riding because the more in tune with the horse its rider is, the more easily they will be able to anticipate the horse’s behaviour and communication and this in turn will improve their riding skills.

We aim to open a world of new possibilities by nurturing a rider’s understanding of their own influence over a horse, how this will affect their riding experience and this will ultimately lead to a safer and more competent rider.

Our philosophy

We focus on private one to one riding sessions for both adults and children. We feel that this level of personal attention is required to give the person a chance to develop a good connection with the horse and to grow their skills and understanding.

We teach bare back riding as well as with a saddle!

Children’s rides

We offer riding for children aged 4 years upwards. Starting with ½ hour sessions that will introduce the child to horses, during these sessions they become familiar with being around them, on them and learn the basics of riding.

Pony club – for a range of age groups and abilities. The club is held for 2 hours during the morning or afternoon at weekends.

Benefits of pony club include:

  • learning how to care for horses and look after their needs
  • know how to be safe around horses
  • gymkhana activities
  • games
  • working together as a team
  • designing, building and riding through obstacle courses
  • playing with horses
  • learning how to ride (which includes bareback and with a saddle!)

Teaching us about self awareness

As an instinctive herd animal, the horse is sensitive to our inner emotions and will react in a truely honest way, revealing new insights into a person’s life and teaching us about self awareness.
